Minecraft Dungeons is an old-school action-RPG set in the charming blocky world of Minecraft. With similarities to games like Diablo, Minecraft emphasizes combat and loot above all else, spread across a wide range of levels that represent different biomes and areas from the normal game.
Although we’ve taken a look at the full world map, we still don’t know exactly how many levels are present in the game. At the time of writing, we have found another five hidden levels, connected to other areas of the game. All nine main missions might have additional hidden areas, and we are still trying to track them down. Here are the ones we’ve confirmed so far.
Smash and Loot
Minecraft meets Diablo
Minecraft Dungeons is an upcoming action RPG set in the blocky worlds of Minecraft! Team up with three friends and set out to explore the dungeons.
Navigate the world of Minecraft Dungeons
This is the full Minecraft Dungeons world map at launch. As you progress, new dungeons and areas will become available, with their own potential rewards. Some dungeons are “secret”, hidden in regular story scenarios, and must be unlocked by exploring the area. We have no doubt that this map will expand further with future DLC and expansion content.
Each level comes with a set loot table, which features base variants of armor and weapon archetypes, as well as much more powerful “Unique” variants. For full lists of everything loot tables do, click the links below.
To note: Some loot board rewards require adventure or apocalypse difficulties, such as the Golem Kit and the Katana.
The camp is the central area where you will establish your base. Here, merchants spawn that allow you to convert your emeralds into random chunks of loot, and it’s here that you’ll choose missions and can test your damage on certain target dummies.
Creeper Woods is the first level after the tutorial, set in creepy woods reminiscent of any Minecraft forest biome at night. Skeletons, zombies and vines are typical of this region, so be careful!
Loot Table: Hunter Armor, Wolf Armor, Soul Robe, Sword, Spear, Axe, Bow, Soul Bow
Artifact Rewards: Boots of Swiftness, Death Cap Mushroom, Tasty Bone, Torment Quiver.
The Creepy Crypt is unlocked through Creeper Woods and is a large stone dungeon with different types of mobs, usually of the Undead and Creepy variety. To find the Creeper Crypt, the location usually spawns to the left of Creeper Woods, via a side path. Hidden chests and random puzzles can spawn in this area, granting powerful loot. On Apocalypse difficulty, the Creepy Crypt map size can be truly gargantuan.
Loot Table: Sword, Pickaxe, Bow, Soul Bow, Hunter Armor, Ghost Armor, Battle Dress.
Artifact Rewards: Boots of Swiftness, Ghost Cloak, Fishing Rod, Tasty Bones.
Soggy Swamp is a first stage located in Minecraft’s Swamp biome. The unique thing about this scary place is that jumping in the mud of the river will be, well, kill you. Luckily, this doesn’t remove one of your lives per level, but it’s still worth avoiding!
Loot Table: Spears, Double Axe, Daggers, Soul Knife, Hunting Bow, Scatter Crossbow, Evocation Robe, Mysterious Armor.
Artifact Rewards: Reaper, Fishing Rod, Lightning Rod, Soul Healer, Regeneration Totem.
The Soggy Cave is a hidden level found inside the Soggy Swamp. It’s a relatively small level, with a few puzzles for good measure. We only managed to find the entrance to it on default difficulty, its spawn rate can be bugged on Adventure and Apocalypse difficulty. Typically it can be found via a hidden path, so be sure to explore away from the main road through the Soggy Swamp.
Loot Table: Gauntlets, Double Axe, Daggers, Cutlasses, Hunting Bow, Ghost Armor, Evoker Robe.
Artifact Rewards: Fishing rod, lightning rod, soul healer, regeneration totem.
After Creeper Forest, you’ll head to Pumpkin Pastures, made up of burnt-out villages attacked by the Arch Illager and his forces. Expect to fight a boss here. While exploring the main path, you can find a pirate ship, which grants access to the Arch Haven bonus stage.
Loot Table: Sword, Sickles, Soul Scythe, Longbow, Scale Mail, Hunter’s Armor.
Artifact Rewards: Light Feather, Wind Horn, Golem Kit, Corrupt Beacon, Flaming Quiver.
Arch Haven is a hidden level that you can find through Pumpkin Pastures. It’s almost like a small resort, but the Illagers are invading the area and using it to perform some kind of spell. Go ruin their plans and maybe get some loot in the process.
Loot Table: Sickles, Soul Scythe, Longbow, Soul Crossbow, Guard Armor, Mercenary Armor, Champion Armor.
Artifact Rewards: Light feather, horn of wind, marvelous wheat, medallion of love.
Cacti Canyon is a sun-scorched biome with lots of cactus plants and charming western cowboy-themed music. This area is populated by angry Illagers and other random baddies. Be especially wary of those accursed geomancers.
Loot Table: Gauntlets, Cutlass, Trickbow, Shortbow, Longbow, Crossbow, Heavy Crossbow, Champion’s Armor, Mercenary’s Armor, Spelunker Armor.
Artifact Rewards: Windhorn, Wondrous Wheat, Corrupted Beacon, Totem of Protection.
The Redstone Mines detail a much more claustrophobic atmosphere than most other levels. Long narrow corridors, sparkling caverns and lava slabs await you in the Redstone Mines.
Loot Table: Daggers, Pickaxe, Swift Crossbow, Rogue Armor, Combat Robe, Wolf Armor, Ghost Armor, Spelunker Armor.
Artifact Rewards: Firework Arrow, Harvester, Tasty Bone, Corrupt Beacon.
The Desert Temple is a large complex full of skeletal remains of a forgotten empire. Full of necromancers and great loot for soul oriented builds or fast attacking melee rogues, the Desert Temple is a fun level with an epic boss battle.
Loot Table: Sickles, Glaive, Soul Knife, Shortbow, Thief Armor, Grim Armor, Mystery Armor.
Artifact Rewards: Gong of Weakening, Boots of Swiftness, Powder Shock, Totem of Protection, Quiver of Torment.
The Fiery Forge is a complex underground facility where the Arch-Illager builds his Redstone golems. Filled with lava and angry Illagers, the Fiery Forge is also home to a rather large and dangerous boss.
Loot Table: Cutlass, Great Hammer, Power Bow, Explosive Crossbow, Reinforced Chainmail, Plate Armor, Mercenary Armor, Dark Armor, Scaled Armor.
Artifact Rewards: Ironskin Amulet, Soul Healer, Regeneration Totem, Flaming Quiver.
Highblock Halls is the Arch-Illagers castle, stuffed full of his Illagers minions, now clad in heavy armor and huge shields. There’s also a hidden “Forgotten Prison” which is rather spooky, accessible near the entrance on some map spawns, behind a hidden door unlocked by a secret shield switch at the bottom of some stairs, so keep an eye out!
Loot Table: Mace, Axe, Electric Bow, Swift Crossbow, Scatter Crossbow, Guard Armor, Soul Armor.
Artifact Rewards: Firework Arrow, Light Feather, Death Cap Mushroom, Love Medallion.
Underhalls is a secret level outside of Highblock Halls. These are the castle cellars and catacombs, full of undead, spooky specters and a spooky haunted prison level.
Loot Table: Spear, Mace, Great Hammer, Mighty Bow, Explosive Crossbow, Dark Armor, Soul Armor.
Artifact Rewards: Firework arrow, iron skin amulet, love medallion, protection totem.
The final level (as far as we know…this game is full of secrets), Obsidian Pinnacle is the upper echelons of the Arch-Illager’s castle. As you climb the castle towers, you’ll face the Arch-Illager himself at the end, so be prepared.
Loot Table: Katana, Claymore, Great Hammer, Crossbow, Heavy Crossbow, Soul Crossbow, Robe of Evocation, Sinister Armor.
Artifact Rewards: Ghost cape, shock powder, wondrous wheat, lightning rod.
Secret cow level
Minecraft Dungeons also features a super secret cow level, as a tribute to Diablo II. Check out the video guide above for how to access it, or head here for the written version.
Unlock Minecraft Dungeons secret cow level
The world map has a variety of other locations, including temples, fortresses, mountains, swamps, and pretty much every other Minecraft biome you can imagine. It stands to reason that one day we may even see the Nether or The End represented in Minecraft Dungeons. The sky really is the limit on what they can add, and we can’t wait to hear more about what’s to come. A DLC announcement on the world map also refers to “Icelandic” adventures coming in future DLC, so maybe pirates too? !
