Minecraft Dungeons details Howling Peak DLC and free Apocalypse Plus mode in latest developer video

Mojang Studios has released a new Developer Diary video offering an in-depth look at two dungeon crawlers Minecraft DungeonsUpcoming Updates – the paid Howling Peak DLC coming in December and the free Apocalypse Plus update coming later this week.

The Apocalypse Plus update will add 20 new threat difficulties for all players, adding a “new layer of difficulty” for those looking for an extra challenge, but also offers increasingly better gear against the most powerful mobs. Naturally, the new difficulties required a lot of extensive replays, testing, and iterations for the team to get the balance right.

Next, the video cuts to the Howling Peaks DLC, set high in the mountains with three new missions revolving around a new mechanic of powerful winds that threaten to send daredevil explorers off course. We’ve got a good look at the new mountain biomes, as well as some of the other new additions which include new enemies like the Wind Caller which can summon gusts of wind or regular Ravagers. Minecraftfrom the recent Village and Pillage update. There are also new natural monsters such as mountain goats and new sets of armor and weapons like climbing gear.

You can watch the full video for yourself below. The Apocalypse Plus update is set to release on October 26 alongside a timed Halloween-themed Spooky Fall event. The Howling Peaks DLC will launch in December for Minecraft Dungeons on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC.
