Minecraft Dungeons is getting brand new DLC billed as “the conclusion to the story we’ve been following for over a year.” In this new content, you will face the final boss of the base game, the Ender Dragon. It’s called Echoing Void and will launch on July 28.
On top of that, it will launch alongside an Ultimate Edition of the game which bundles all the DLC so far. These are Jungle Awakens, Creeping Winter, Howling Peaks, Flames of the Nether, Hidden Depths, and Echoing Void. It will be sold at a reduced price.
“Months after ridding the Overworld of the corruption brought by the Orb of Dominance, the time has come to wrap up,” the blog post opened, “In this final arc, you fight on the presumed territory of the ‘Enderman: The End. The End!
So this is a wrap on Minecraft Dungeons, aye? Well, not exactly. The blog post goes on to say that there is “lots more to come.” Perhaps the use of the word “presumed” is important here – it could be that the end is not the real domain of the Enderman as we have believed all these years, or perhaps there is has a greater threat looming beyond the abyss.
Nonetheless, the DLC features new legendary gear, enemies, and locations to explore as you skewer familiar foes. During this time there is free added content in the form of The Gauntlet of Gales which releases alongside Echoing Void, adding a “maze-like” mission where you are tasked with solving puzzles and conquering trials. It will be available from the mission map.
On top of that, the free content update will add new enchantments such as Ambush, Shadow Blast, and Void Strike.
Minecraft Dungeons is available on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox and PlayStation. You can grab it from Game Pass and play with anyone, regardless of hardware – it has cross-platform multiplayer.
