Hack-and-slash dungeon exploration Minecraft spin off, Minecraft Dungeons, will receive even more new content later this year, with many more to be added later.
“Heroes, the adventure continues!” announced the official Minecraft Dungeons Twitter account during this year’s Minecon Live. “Seasonal adventures are coming to dungeons! Progress through an all-new progression system to earn pets, styles, emotes, and skins!”
There will also be a free and unpaid Battle Pass track that will unlock various in-game currencies, allowing you to pick up various items without having to shell out on the premium pass. As of this writing, the cost of the battle pass has not been revealed.
And that’s not all ! As well as the new Season Pass, Mojang and Double Eleven announced a new “Tower” challenge – a new free challenge mode that will ask you to beat 30 levels filled with various NPCs, bosses, monsters and more. Every two weeks the tower will change and new challenges will be available. You can also advance your battle pass by playing this mode.
The first season, The Cloudy Climb, lands in December this year and Mojang has promised that there will be “lots more to come” for the title in the future as well.
Minecraft Dungeons launched on PC, Switch, PS4, Xbox One in May 2020 – before coming to Xbox Series X/S – and has sold over 10 million copies to date. The dungeon crawler should also have its own arcade cabinet at some point.
